Where Healing Becomes Forward Motion

For Families

You have been carrying this too.

When one person is in treatment, the people around them are already doing work of their own. Family therapy at Launch To Wellness makes that work part of the plan instead of something you manage alone.

What Family Work Involves

Four Things Family Therapy Actually Works On

Not a lecture about what you did wrong. These are the four the work keeps coming back to.

Rebuilding Communication Getting back to conversations that are not about the last crisis, and that do not end the same way every time.
Setting Healthy Boundaries Working out what you can and cannot carry, and how to say it plainly, before the next hard moment forces the question.
Understanding Codependency Seeing the patterns that formed while everyone was coping, and which of them are quietly holding the problem in place.
A Home That Supports Recovery Treatment happens for a few hours. The rest of the week happens where you live. That environment is part of the work.

Why Families Are Part of This

Addiction and Mental Illness Do Not Stay in One Person

Family-systems therapy looks at how addiction and mental illness show up across a family’s relationships and daily life. We help families rebuild communication, set healthy boundaries, understand codependency, and build a home environment that supports recovery.

By the time someone reaches us, the people closest to them have usually spent a long stretch adjusting: covering, worrying, managing. Families are part of the plan too, with practical tools and honest guidance along the way.

Who This Is For

Family Means Whoever Is Actually in It

The person in treatment decides who that is. Here is what tends to bring each of you in.

Parents

If you are a parent

Your child is an adult now, and the instinct to fix it did not switch off when they turned eighteen.

Much of the work here is about what changes when help stops being something you deliver and starts being something you support.

Support or Stepping In

The Difference Is Rarely Obvious in the Moment

Almost nobody sets out to enable. It usually looks like love, moving fast, under pressure. These are the moments where the two get confused.

Stepping In Looks Like

Calling the program to explain on their behalf.

Support Looks Like

Telling them you noticed, and leaving the call to them.

None of this is meant to be done from a table on a website. Working out where your line sits, in your family, is what the sessions are for.

Questions Families Ask

Before You Call.

If your question is not here, it is probably one worth asking a person rather than a page. The conversation is confidential and free.

  • Family therapy is treatment — not a status update
  • Benefits verified before you start
  • Call even if your person will not go yet
Do You Offer Family Therapy, or Just Updates About My Person?

Family therapy is one of eight clinical services at Launch To Wellness, delivered by licensed clinicians alongside individual therapy, group therapy and psychiatry. It is treatment in its own right, not a status call.

Is Family Work Covered by Insurance?

Most major PPO plans are accepted. We verify your specific benefits and explain them in plain language before you start, so you are not working it out afterwards.

Do We Have to Live Nearby?

We are in Woodland Hills and serve people across the San Fernando Valley and greater Los Angeles. If getting here regularly is the obstacle, say so when you call and the team will tell you what is workable.

What if the Person We Are Worried About Will Not Go?

That call is still worth making. We cannot make someone enter treatment, and we will not pretend otherwise, but our team can talk through what you are seeing and what options exist.

Who Counts as Family Here?

Whoever the person in treatment says it is. Partners, parents, adult children, and the friend who actually shows up all sit in the same room.

What We Treat, By Category

Four Categories, One Team.

Every plan starts with a category, then gets built around the specific condition inside it.

Mental Health

Depression, anxiety, trauma, and the broader range of conditions we treat clinically, not just the most commonly searched ones. Every plan is built around the specific condition, not a generic mental health track everyone moves through the same way.

Our approach

What Makes Our Approach Different

If you are comparing outpatient treatment centers in Los Angeles, you have already seen the same three phrases on every site: compassionate staff, evidence-based care, individualized attention. All of it is usually true, and none of it helps you choose.

Here is what distinguishes Launch To Wellness, an outpatient mental health and substance use treatment center in Woodland Hills serving the San Fernando Valley and greater Los Angeles, described specifically enough that you can ask us about any of it before you decide.

  • Co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions are addressed in one treatment plan by one team. You will not be told your depression is out of scope, or that you need to get sober first before anyone will treat your trauma. Both are worked on from day one.

  • Your therapist, psychiatric provider, and case manager work in the same Woodland Hills building and stay in the same conversation about your care. Clinical staff meet regularly to review each client’s progress, so your plan changes when your situation changes rather than six weeks later.

  • We do not run everyone through the same sequence of worksheets. Your treatment plan is built from your clinical assessment, your history, your goals, and what has already failed you. Two people in the same program on the same day are often working on very different things.

  • Outpatient treatment means you practice what you learn where it actually matters, which is at home, at work, and with your family. Skills are tested against real life every evening and reviewed the next day. For many adults that is not a compromise, it is the more durable path.

  • Recovery rarely happens in isolation, and families often need support of their own. Family education and involvement are offered as part of the treatment plan, with your consent and on your terms.

  • For adults whose depression has not responded to medication, transcranial magnetic stimulation is a non-invasive, FDA-cleared option for treatment-resistant depression. Having TMS therapy available in house means we can change course without sending you somewhere else.

  • Your progress is tracked with validated clinical assessments at regular intervals, not only by how you describe your week. When the measures stop moving, your treatment plan changes.
