What Mental Health Diversion Actually Involves

No promises about legal outcomes. This is what the clinical side of diversion actually includes, and anything about eligibility or your case, we’d rather you hear from your attorney than guess at here.

How Care Moves Forward

What Happens Once Your Case Is Referred.

Treatment through mental health diversion follows the same clinical rigor as every program we run, coordinated with your attorney or case manager from the first step.

  1. 01 · Referral

    Your Case Is Referred

Referral typically comes through your attorney or the court, connecting you with our outreach team to begin the process.

  2. 02 · Assessment

    A Full Clinical Assessment

The same clinical assessment every client goes through, not a shortened version, determines the level of care that’s clinically appropriate for you.

  3. 03 · Active Care

    Treatment, Documented for the Court

You receive care at whichever level, PHP, IOP, or OP, your assessment shows is appropriate, with documentation provided to the court as required.

  4. 04 · Completion

    Complete Your Program

We provide the court with documentation of your treatment and progress. What happens with your case from there is a legal determination made by the court, not by us.

How Care Moves Forward

How Treatment Works at Launch To Wellness

Your care follows a clear plan from the beginning, so you will always understand where you are, what comes next, and why.

  1. 01 / Assessment

    Start with a Confidential Assessment

Every person’s story is different, and that is where treatment begins.

A clinician takes time to understand your mental health, substance use, medical history, current symptoms, and what you want treatment to change. The assessment is confidential, free, and comes with no obligation. If we are not the right fit, we will say so and help you find appropriate care.

  2. 02 / Recommendation

    Receive a Personalized Recommendation

After your assessment, we recommend the level of care that best matches your clinical needs.

We explain what that recommendation involves, including the days and hours of treatment and how it may fit into your schedule. You receive the information you need to make a decision without pressure.

  3. 03 / Treatment Plan

    Build Your Treatment Plan

Treatment is not built around a diagnosis alone. It is built around you.

You and your clinical team create a personalized plan that identifies your goals, the therapies that support them, any psychiatric or medication needs, and how progress will be measured along the way.

  4. 04 / Active Care

    Begin Treatment

Your care is delivered by the same clinical team from the first week onward.

It may include individual therapy, group therapy, psychiatric support, medication management, family involvement, and other evidence-based services. Treatment is designed to help new skills and healthier patterns carry into everyday life.

  5. 05 / Progress Review

    Measure Progress Together

Recovery is not linear, and your treatment plan should not be rigid.

Your clinical team reviews your progress with you, identifies what is helping, and changes what is not. Your care evolves as your needs change, and the plan is revised with you rather than around you.

  6. 06 / Step Down

    Transition with Confidence

Moving to a lower level of care is not the end of treatment. It is a sign of progress.

When you are ready, the intensity of treatment is reduced gradually while the support around you remains intentional and coordinated by the team you already know.

  7. 07 / Aftercare

Leave with a Plan, Not Just a Goodbye

Before treatment ends, we help you build an aftercare plan for what comes next.

That plan may include ongoing therapy, psychiatric care, community resources, recovery support, and specific strategies for the weeks when life becomes difficult again.

Common Questions

Questions & Answers.

Clear answers about mental health diversion, court documentation, and how the clinical treatment component works. Still wondering about something else? Ask us directly.

  • Legal outcomes are determined by the court
  • Treatment is documented as required
  • Clinical care is still based on assessment

Talk With Our Team

Does completing treatment guarantee my case will be dismissed?

No. Legal outcomes, including eligibility and case dismissal, are determined by the court and your attorney, not by Launch To Wellness. We provide the clinical treatment component of your diversion program, documented as the court requires.

Do I need a referral from my attorney to start?

In most cases, mental health diversion referrals come through an attorney or the court. If you are unsure how to begin, contact our outreach team, and we can help you understand the next step.

What if I am not eligible for mental health diversion?

Eligibility is a legal determination made by the court, not by Launch To Wellness. If diversion is not available to you, our clinical team can still work with you directly through PHP, IOP, or OP, depending on what your situation requires.
